epiphany2

Uncurl,

reach impossibly for

promises you made back in the day,

when it was OK to wish for

klangers, kickers nunchucks and knickers –

before complexities numbed your brain

fogged your senses

an empath in pain.

Extend cramped fingers,

reach today’s fresh potential

coffee in one hand

smoke in the other

pen on desk,

fresh pressed sheets

waiting for a wink

a scrawl

some action.

Dawn becomes fresh,

due drops languidly

from lush green grass

kissing parched earth,

begging for solace,

embracing thirsty root

grow

learn

love

forgive.

Today is the epiphany you need

to see through all of your tomorrows

realising

all that matters

is you.
