The gift ~ A triolet

As turning hands of fickle fate decide
the gifts that are not ours to give away
so solemnly we harbour and abide
as turning hands of fickle fate decide
the yearnings of our free will is denied
for we are facing selfless judgment day
as fickle fate adjudicates; decides
the gifts that were not ours to give away
