Awakening

Carved igneous rock, is home beneath our feet,

The glories of her slumber, reflected in deep pools of tranquil,

Eyes widen and marvel at unfathomable  beauty

Solitary queen, humbled by serenity of her silent soliloquy

Dragons dwell in her burning heart, protecting the saviour king of old

Her secrets hers alone, as she devours the unprepared.

Written for Jingle’s poetry rally week 19. Thanks to Adam for the nomination!
